The listing is for the painting that you see in the photos. I purchased it at an estate sale in Oregon where I was not told its history. I am guessing that it is an Italian painting that is old enough to be considered vintage. I am guessing that it was painted during the first half of the 20th century. It is signed but I have not been able to decipher the name. I leave it to the buyer to decide who painted it and when and where. The frame measures close to 31 by 23 inches. The area of the painting exposed by frame measures close to 18 by 16 inches. The framed painting weighs close to 4 pounds 10 ounces. I am guessing that the style is a type of impressionism. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. The painting is generally in very good condition. A close-up shows how there is a subtle and not very noticeable line near the top edge that I think is from the the canvas resting against the stretcher. There are two more such lines close to the left and right edges. Lighting can make them more or less visible. A close-up shows how there are minor distortions in the surface that are visible in the general region of the building when the light is shining from an angle. I did not see them until I angled the painting to a light. The distoritions are easy to see on the reverse. A close-up shows an about 2 inch long line of very tiny specks running from a corner of the building to the edge of the painting. Inspection under strong magnification shows them to be tiny spots where a tiny amount of paint has popped off. By inspecting the painting with a strong magnifier, I have found a few short and minor cracks in the painting in scattered locations on the painting, Otherwise, the paint looks stable. The reverse of the canvas looks to me like it may be darkened by age. There are spots on the reverse of the canvas that I do not know the nature of. There are two small blemishes on the frame that show in the photos. The staples holding the canvas and the bent nails holding the stretcher to the frame are somewhat rusted. Otherwise, the frame has only minor signs of use. Painting and frame look relatively clean to me but they might benefit from a cleaning. Otherwise, frame and painting are as shown. I guarantee this painting and frame to be as described and represented by the photos. The photos are part of the description; please look at all of them. I allow three business days for shipping, but I usually ship the same or next day if possible. Please note that the lighting in my photos is uneven, and there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors; different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs "approximately" because no measurements are exact, and some things are difficult to measure. I like to leave feedback after I know that the item has arrived and that the buyer is satisfied. I reserve the right to cancel any bids without explanation. I sometimes purchase signature delivery for my more valuable packages because of the possibility of them being stolen off of a porch or damaged by weather. I often, but not always, ship the same or next day. Often, I have a double-walled box custom made for larger items, which might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually made from biodegradable materials. Please email me with any questions or suggestions. I do not ship on weekends, and I might not be available to answer emails on weekends.
