VTG Myrl D’Arcy Original French Quarter Oil Painting New Orleans Louisiana 1989 Masterfully painted, textured and in muted moonlit tones this impressionistic painting is titled “Creole Cottage”. It is titled and dated on the back. Myrl D’Arcy, a well-known fine art French Quarter New Orleans artist of Creole and Cajun heritage. She painted professionally for well over 50 years before retiring to the artist haven of San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. Myrl D’Arcy passed away in April, 2020. The wood frame does show some minor wear and in my opinion adds to the vintage character of the piece, but could also be easily touched up. There are 3 small areas where the wood could be touched up if you so wished. The random silver paint line splashes on the frame look intentional and I believe are not scratches. The frame measures 19.5” X 17”. The texture of the oil painting on the board gives it almost a 3D feeling and measures 13.5” X 10.5”. The painting is in superb condition. Please zoom in and view the frame and painting for clarity of condition and excellence before purchasing. If you have any questions or specific shipping needs please contact me. I pack with the UTMOST care and use clean, recyclable materials whenever I can.
