Vintage Skelly Tagolene Motor Oil

This auction find listing is for a vintage NOS Skelly Fortified Tagolene H.D. Motor Oil Metal Quart Can that is full. The can is in very nice condition but does have those scratches and areas where the paint has been rubbed off. Likewise, the top does have spots of surface rust which we did not want to clean. The oil is S.A.E. 40 weight, and the colors on the can are very striking. The red tag on the side was their guarantee with a money-back offer. Since the tag does not have W. G. Skelly's name on it, lends us to believe this can was produced after his death in 1957 (prior to this date, his name would appear with a guarantee). Also, the oil derricks band around the bottom was something that appeared after his death, most notably in the early 60s. Very nice-looking quart oil can. This full oil can will be double bagged before packaging for shipment. We do not detail clean our items, only wipe down and dust for picture-taking purposes.
