Vintage G. Whitman Oil

This listing is for the original G. Whitman oil painting that you see in the photos. It is signed "G. Whitman" near lower left hand corner. I purchased it at an estate sale in Oregon where I was not told its history.  I am guessing that was painted circa 1970-1980. I do not know where it was painted or the history of the artist . I leave it to the buyer to decide how old it is and where it was painted. The frame measures close to 29 by 41 inches. The area of the painting exposed by the frame measures close to 23 by35 1/4 inches. The framed painting weighs close to 6 pounds 6 ounces. The frame is mostly a uniform gray color. Some of the photos make it look like areas of the frame are a different color but that is only because of the lighting or perhaps because the gray color has confused the camera. To my eye, the gray looks like it might be very slightly blue. The painting is mostly black and white but there are some tiny blue and red flowers in the foreground. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. The frame shows some minor signs of use. The painting is in excellent condition with no missing paint or cracks in the paint. I have not examined the painting out of its frame. I have not examined the edges of the painting that a re hidden by the frame. Otherwise, the painting is in in excellent condition with no damage. The paint appears to be stable with no cracks. Painting and frame look relatively clean to me but they might benefit from a cleaning. My photos should give you a good idea of their general condition. I guarantee this painting to be as described and represented by the photos and video. The photos are part of the description. Please look at all of them. I allow three business days for shipping but I usually ship the same or next day if possible. Please know that the lighting in my photos is uneven and that there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs “close to” because in my opinion no measurements are exact and some things are difficult to measure. I like to leave feedback after I know that the item has arrived and that the buyer is satisfied. I reserve the right to cancel any bids without explanation.

I frequently purchase signature delivery for my more valuable packages because of the possibility of them being stolen off of a porch or damaged by weather. I often but not always ship the same or the next day. Often, I have a double wall box custom made for larger items and that might result in a short delay.
