Original Oil on Board By Thomas Kinkade. "Bow Falls" was painted on site by Thomas Kinkade in Canada in 1996. Kinkade always took his portable paint box with him when he traveled. He would often stop and execute a plein air painting when he saw a location that spoke to him. The site of Bow Falls is the Banff, National Park in Alberta Canada. It is an absolutely beautiful spot. This painting is an original, one and only painting by Thomas Kinkade. This is not a print or a reproduction. This work has been featured in a full page spread in Kinkade's book, The Artist in Nature: Thomas Kinkade and the Plein Air Tradition (p. 76.) Speaking of the technique he used in painting this work Kinkade states, "By blurring my eyes just slightly, as I looked at the falls, I was able to see the forms of the foam and water in simple shades of gray and white. This allowed me to capture the waterfall quickly and with solidity." We will include a copy of the book with the purchase of the painting.
