Beautiful 19th century (French or English?) Egyptian Revival oil lamp with a Sphynx figure. Very high quality casting and sharp details. There are a few minor condition issues, but overall, this is very good. The metal is polished bronze and brass. The brass collar has age cracks, but that is a replaceable part, if desired. The base wobbles a little bit and needs a felt pad on one foot to stabilize it. The threaded screw post under the font that attaches to the top of the figure, is slightly bent, but it is only visible when you remove the font. The font will sit crooked if not screwed into the base just right, but it is structurally sound and is not a visible or functional issue. There are just normal signs of age overall and some original flaws such as bubbles in the glass. The burner is untested and unmarked. There is a shade holder ring attached. The old glass chimney is included. There are no chips or cracks, just irregular edges and ripples in the glass. The lamp is 11" tall to the collar, under the burner. The lamp is 21" tall with the chimney. The base is 6-1/2" square.
