Portrait Of A Maryland Military Officer Civil War Period Oil

I’m not actually sure what period this painting depicts; it kind of reminds me of pictures of Andrew Jackson, and I think those are more of the revolutionary war or Mexican American war period. The note on the back just says a Maryland military officer. I do not think the painting dates to much more than 100 years old, if that. The frame may be more around the civil war period.
Anyway, it’s a good painting and if you collect militaria from Maryland you will be happy with it.
