This oil painting by Betsy C. Morgan is called “The Writer”. I contacted Ms. Morgan to ask about her work. Her comments to me were “I did that painting after a residency at the VCCA. I had taken a series of photos of artists walking to and from their studios and this was from one of those photos. The person in the photo I worked from for this painting was my friend, Howie Axelrod, a writer from Boston who was working on his memoir while in residency. The memoir, Point of Vanishing, was recently published!”
Ms. Morgan said the value of the painting is $950. It measures 15” x 30”.
