This is an early 18th century (circa 1710-1725) painting of women and men enjoying the outdoors while writing/drawing, acting and making music.  One of the characters is playing a mandolin or guitar and another is either writing or drawing, while the other figures look on, and another appears to be dressed as a pierrot.  The scene is in front of a mountain and the ruin of a building on the left. The mountain is possibly Vesuvius or a view from Naples, but it is possible that this image was painted in France and that the artist added the mountain that he would have seen in etchings of the period, or it was possibly painted in Italy. Condition:  Good condition. Condition is commensurate with age and use.  Has some inpainting in sky and trees. Has been professionally relined, most likely at least 20-30 years ago.
