Daniel Gerhartz (b.1965 - ) An american painter who was born in rural Wisconsin, an area he still calls home today.  He credits an inspirational high school art instructor, John Baitinger, for helping to shape his artistic direction. Shortly after high school Gerhartz continued his artistic pursuits at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. During his time here in 1985 he was awarded with the Faculty Recommendation Scholarship and The President’s Award.  Gerhartz went on to work with artist Richard Schmidt, who played an important role in his life sharing with him his knowledge and skill of painting. Today, his use of light and color in his works have earned him numerous awards in his young career. His works have been featured in Prix de West and the Artists of America exhibitions.
