This would have been used with the SMALLER OMC Stringer 4cyl Hydro-Mechanical Shift 400 Series Lower units 1978-1981
Not found on the V6 & V8 "800" Series Drives. The easy way to tell between a mechanical shift & hyrdo-mechanical shift drive is that the hydro-mechanical ones do not have the visible anode square chunk next to the six little holes on each side toward the rear of the lower unit
All of the 400 series lower gearcases from this time period were the same for 4cyl engines from 1978-1981 (GM 2.5L 120hp & GM 3.0L 140hp) Other Details Freshwater Used Parts Please inspect pictures to get the best idea of condition.
