This is a large acrylic/oil on board painting of what appears to be a Alaskan scene depicting a river and a mountain. The piece is signed T.R. Lambert and dated 1950, which is 10 years prior to his disappearance into the Alaskan wild. Born in 1905, Lambert was briefly in Yellowstone National Park and Montana before arriving in Alaska. This could be a scene from either of these places as well. Don’t have any history on this large painting, as it was acquired at an estate sale and came with no information. It was in a poor condition gold gilded frame and needed cleaning, which has been professionally done by the Pennsylvania Art Conservatory. There is no chipping or paint loss anywhere and this is ready for a new home and a new frame. Please check out my other great and rare Alaskan auctions.
