This is a very pretty, very old oil lamp. I've only had it on display. I've never once put oil into the base. So, technically, it's unused. However, due to its age, the blue on the inside of the lamp itself is peeling. The ducks appear to be painted on the glass on the outside, but the color blue is some kind of film applied on the inside. So I'm not sure oil could be put in it unless you peeled the blue off of the inside of the glass. It's just a beautiful piece. The hurricane shade has little round balls at the top of it. It's very pretty and I always get compliments on this piece. I'm downsizing a huge collection of lamps, oil lamps, and other household items so take a look at my other auctions. My style is vintage cottage.
