Historic folk scene of the Hungarian countryside - a five-horse drawn carriage with four people in the carriage, racing down a country road. Janos Viski was a Hungarian painter best known for his lively
depictions of horses. He strove to capture the
movement and beauty of the animals in full stride. Born in 1891 in
Szokolya, Hungary, Viski went on to study under Tividar Zempler at the
Hungarian University of Fine Arts. The artist spent years traveling
through South America and studying the gauchos and their horses, and was
awarded the Grand Prix at the 1936 Salon des Beaux Arts in Paris. Viski
died in 1987 in Hungary. Depending on the final sale price, I might be able to offer free shipping in the USA.
