Reproduction of Italian Renaissance Old Master Titian "Sacred and Profane Love" Artist: Unknown Artist Medium: Oil on canvas Measures: 13.75" x 29.75" Framed: 18.25 x 34.5" Signed: unsigned Subject: The original painting was most likely commissioned by Niccolò Aurelio, secretary of the Venice Council of Ten, whose coat of arms is found at the sarcophagus or fountain, In celebration of his marriage with the young widow Laura Bagarotto. Early 20th Century reproduction after original 16th century painting displayed at the Borghese Gallery and Museum in Rome. Bought from a private Westchester County, NY collection. Does not carry authentication documentation. Great condition, the varnish is a bit darkened from age, thin barely visible crackled in the background of the painting, there also are a couple small chips at the frame.
