Incredible Oil

Overview: Up for sale is a fantastic copy of Milton Avery's "Pool Players."  Avery is a famous Connecticut/New York post-impressionist modernist painter born in 1885 and who died in 1965.  I love the simplicity of this scene - just the pool shooter, the table and his opponent off to the side.  The painting is signed "Alex Gorman."  I haven't found much information on the artist, aside from a few examples online.  I think this was painted in the 1980's based on the canvas age.  It's framed in a really dark wood cool cut-out frame.  There is a framer's tag on back, but it doesn't provide much useful information. Condition: The painting is in excellent condition.  Frame has a number of chips along the top edge and two larger spots of chipping along the bottom  to moderate edge wear/scuffs. Measurements: Painting measures 36 inches wide x 24 inches high.  Frame measures approximately 41 inches wide x 29 inches high.
