(I have just placed these on a holiday discount sale. Typically these go as a set for $100 or more and I am selling the pair for $69! These are the epitome of wooden authentic vintage folk artwork. This wooden folk art is painted from The original image on paper that was titled "Martha and George Washington. " Created around 1780 by a talented Pennsylvania German artist) Ever since that artist’s rendition, numerous wood plaques have surfaced in my PA Dutch area where I lived. Considering I got this from an Amish farm auction, the likeliness that it is the original artist is VERY HIGH) So… with that notion in mind, $69 for the set is an incredible valuable investment for folk art . I lived near Lancaster Pa (the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch/Amish country) These two plaques/paintings of oil on wood were purchased at an estate auction from a failed Amish farm. The owner tells me that this wood set has been in the family for three generations. I cannot attest to the validity, however, this is part of the description. The condition of the wood is in beautiful shape, as well as the paint on the wood is still vibrant. There is true noticeable age on the wood which is visible to the naked eye, but does not at all detract from the beauty and uniqueness of this old, authentic folk art. There are no areas that appear to have been hung on the wall. They are simply wooden placards. Please reach out to me if you have any questions.
