Honda and Acura B & D Series Performance Oil Pump Shim Kit
Shimming your oil pump has been a proven and time-tested modification when extra oiling is required for performance engine builds. This kit allows you to increase oil pressure by adding tension to the relief valve within the pump assembly. Additionally you can fix any pressure loss from porting your pump. You can expect an increase of 5-10 oil PSI at idle per 1mm shim, 20-30 PSI at higher RPMs on a stock pump. As a general rule of thumb, most performance engines require 10 oil PSI per every 1000 RPMs, 100 oil PSI is widely recognized as the limit when shimming Honda and Acura engines. Excessive oil pressure can result in damage.
You will receive x4 1 millimeter thick shims to allow for a wide range of customized oil pressure. You can modify up to 4 oil pumps if you only desire a small bump in pressure over factory rating. Shims can be installed with pump off of the engine or still installed with the oil pan removed. Detailed instructions are also included. Shims are designed to fit any B and D series oil pump without any modification. This includes all B16, B18, B20, D15, D16, D17 engines, as well as OEM and aftermarket oil pumps.
