I don't know exactly where the inspiration for this original painting came from. It could be any number of locations throughout the southwest USA. But many times I have seen high desert country -- much like this -- while driving through Arizona. There are other similar landscapes in California and New Mexico as well. The viewer of this listing has likely seen landscapes like this too. All that said, this is a beautiful painting that captures the essence of the early morning (and some sunsets) of the vast and expansive southwest desert landscape. I believe the photos are good, but the painting is far more bold and beautiful when it's viewed up close and in person. The colors are very rich, and the artist has painted a composition that draws your eye inside this inspiring world expressed in paint on canvas. This painting very much seems to be alive with a morning of possibilities birthed in the desert sunrise... The artist, B. Bernard Duggan, is a prolific artist.
