Lovely & Rare Plume & Atwood MFG Antique Oil Lamp Hanging Chandelier w/Milk Glass Shade & Bell Cap Diffuser Topper, Brass Ball & Rod Hanging Bars Has 46 Crystal Prisms for a Great LooK! P & A Oil Font w/Wick Circa: 1890-1910's estimated age, Approx: 36" High, 10.5 lbs Just Reduced! Terrific antique hanging chandelier with awesome display appeal to enhance any featured room. Features three Rod & Ball Style Drop Arms & Brass elements enhanced by 46 Prism Crystals & Milk Glass Shade & Bell Shaped Diffuser Topper. The brass P&A oil font has a wick & the adjuster knob works well. Truly an eye popper wherever you would place it. The milk glass shade has a solid upper and lower rim, but a hairline crack in glass as shown in pictures. It really does not effect item's overall appeal much & you almost have to look for it to notice it. The Milk Glass is a standard 13.75" shade that fits the a 14" opening on chandelier, if you decide to swap out shade. It is just under 6" at top opening and just under 6" high. Despite the crack, it is fairly solid, you would just want to be gentle installing it of course. The brass P & A (Plume & Atwood) oil font appears to work very well as wick goes up & down with ease as noted (there is about 4.5-5" of dry wick inside font or about 7-8" total). We did not light the wick as we did not want to add oil in order to keep it safer and cleaner for shipping. The font has some wear & dings as shown in pictures, but looks pretty nice. The other brass elements of the light look great also. This is very easy to hang as there is a single hook on the top of mount portion and at just 10.5 lbs it is not overly heavy and should attach to most standard home fixture openings once you find a suitable cover plate. We did not install a glass chimney on the font as we are not sure if it even takes one. We assume it may need a chimney holder installed, but we are selling as we obtained. TIP & NOTE: So some basic assembly will be required after shipping as we will pack certain lamp parts individually and padded for safe shipping (but all in same box of course). The shade will actually be packed in a padded box inside of larger box for even safer shipping. All prism crystals will be included but we will remove crystals from chandelier for safer shipping & sometimes the old wires on such may break upon re-install (it is a very easy fix of course, but wanted to note it). The rod & ball arms are a breeze to set up compared to the old chain drops, one of our favorite parts of this lamp. The font simply rests in the bottom portion and screws onto the bottom drop finial. Please let us know if you have questions & we can discuss more. The pricing on these can be from $350 to $1200 depending on condition & other. That said we are asking far less than many of this quality due to hairline crack in glass shade & minor wear on metal components. FINAL NOTE: We have found it much easier when installing these style chandeliers to have a helper if possible. It just makes it easier to set the connector rods, crystals and shade in place. We will pack the shade inside its own box within the larger shipping box to protect it. It will have multiple layers of soft padding and Styrofoam lining box & outer box as well. Crystals will also have protective packing. We sell a lot of antique lighting fixtures, lamps, chandeliers, oil lamps and more, but we always encourage our buyers to consult with qualified contractors when installing fixtures for your safety unless you are skilled in such work. This fixture came from a very selective antique collector's estate. Please Read : See our Feedback & Buy with confidence. We ship with extreme care and all items are fully insured! We often take from 30-90 minutes packing more delicate & odd sized items to make sure your treasure is protected. We also photograph most items above $100 while packing in case a shipper were to ever damage an item (only 1 time in over 2,000 US shipped sales). For this reason, if an item is ever damaged, it will be the Buyer's responsibility to file a claim with the shipping service and we can provide photos from packing to assist Buyers. The process is not difficult, but the timing of such does not allow adequate time for the item to be returned to us and then for us to proceed with a claim (chain of custody questions can arise as well on returned items due to double shipping and handling so it is just easier for Buyers). So again, as noted in listing, we do not offer returns. Sales tax is charged according to your state or country's regulations. Of course, there is free local pick up and we can meet to assist if you are near Indianapolis or driving through. We do this often. Signature confirmation on delivery will be required, so please plan accordingly. Also, we have discounts with FedEx & eBay on shipping which do not always show up in eBay estimates on shipping. We try to refund what we can when there is a notable difference, but we do not know until we actually process the shipping order.
