I have here an Antique Vintage Clear Glass Oil Lamp w/Eagle
Brass Burner P&A Mfg Co + Chimney 18½”

My mom always had this lamp in her house and I do remember my parents using it when I was a child when we lost power. I don’t know if my parents bought this lamp in the 1950s or if it was something one of them had from earlier decades (their parents), but I do know that it is old!!
When cleaning out my mother’s house 10 years ago, I took the lamp and kept in it the closet of my Maine home just in case.
I have now sold both my city and country home and have moved into a retirement community (with a generator!) and have no use nor space for this very large and heavy lamp! It had a very small amount of oil and an oil soaked wick in it.
I disposed of all that and cleaned the lamp up the best I could.
The base of the lamp is a very heavy, thick glass with a vine and scroll design around the base. The base measures 6 5/8” in diameter. Atop the base is the brass burner that says “ EAGLE
” on the top of the outer edge. The screw knob (to roll the wick up and down) says. “ P.&A. MFG. CO. THOMASTON, CONN. MADE IN U.S.A
.”. The burner could use a good cleaning I’m sure. Also included is the chimney (what I would call a globe) that is made of much thinner glass than the base of the lamp. All in it measures 18 ½” tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the chimney. There are no cracks or chips. It really looks great for its age. Also included is a BONUS BRAND NEW PACKAGE of 2 8” LAMP WICKS
(original “Woolworth” price tage of $1.59 still on it (this package is probably 40 years old!!).
It's a great lamp, It just have no use and no space for it!! I do hope someone can use it.
