UP FOR AUCTION IS A Antique Pennsylvania Artist John McLure Hamilton Portrait Oil Painting of Famous English & New York Art Dealer & Critic David Croal Thomson . This portrait is actually in one of John McLure Hamiltons books named "Men I Have Painted" . There is lots of great and interesting information on both of these two people the artist and the subject whom you can research . There is also a Christies label from 2004 on the back upper right corner as seen in one of my pictures above. When I purchased this painting it was very dark & dirty and had two holes, one under his right hand and one in his head. I had a friend clean it and touch up the torn areas. She put a new coat of varnish on everything . Still to me this item looks good and displays well... IMAGE MEASURES about 18" by 23" TOTAL MEASUREMENT IS 22" by 27". Again it displays well, Im sure buyer will be pleased....... See my other auction for similar paintings .
