this is a beautiful Adirondack School antique oil painting depicting a multi-tiered waterfall tumbling over a rocky wilderness terrain to a stream below - by the looks of the dark green trees & brushy foliage that surround the waterfall, it would appear to be some time in the summer - the stream into which the waterfall is flowing is also surrounded by a rocky landscape - there is a pleasant contrast that the very talented artist created using a palette of pale blue with light white clouds for the sky versus the dark green foliage of the forest below - the white & light gray colors of the waterfall & the stream juxtapose nicely against the other colors in the painting - the painting measures 19" x 13" sight size, & is in very good antique condition - it is greatly enhanced by its original 19th century gilded wooden frame which measures 25" x 18" & is also in very good antique condition - the painting can be picked up at my home in Swanzey, NH to save on the cost of shipping -
