This is a interesting painting of 1800 period but I believe it was made this century. There is no signature and he has no face! For some reason, this makes him all the more mysterious. Is he an English gent, a ringmaster, a banker...who knows!This is a great gift for the steampunk enthusiasts or Anglophile. Really cool one of a kind piece that will spark conversation. It has some fading of the color due to age otherwise in excellent condition. Very thick paint was used which adds texture and depth to this piece. See pics for size and full details.
